These are the best and most trusted legal movie websites where you can watch free hindi movies online. Some of our favorite films are made in India. They are fun and exciting and well-made. We find ourselves absorbed into the stories and immersed in the culture. Check out these sites for great Bollywood films.
The name Bollywood comes from “Hollywood” (traditional name associated with American filmmaking) and the India city name Bombay (now Mumbai). It’s the film business for Mumbai and Hindi is one of the languages spoken there. Bollywood is India’s largest film industry in terms of films produced and released each year. In fact, I think Bollywood outproduces the amount of content created by Hollywood now.
Hungama has a super-fun collection of music, videos, movies, podcasts, tv shows and short films. The music videos are so great, and we could watch them all day. Some of the movies are in English. All of the material is legally distributed by Hungama.com and the Hungama Music App allows free and unlimited access to listen to music or download songs and music videos from Bollywood, Hindi, English, Tamil, Telugu, Punjabi and several other Indian languages. Be careful though, the website is full of ads, so be sure you are clicking on what you intend to click.
Voot includes a FREE section of over 100 hindi films. Some films have subtitles in English. The site may be geo-restricted to India (if you are not using a VPN). Some people seem to be able to get it in the USA and the UK. The site also requires registration. Voot has over 40,000 hours of video content that includes shows from channels like MTV, Nickelodeon and Colors. Material is also available in multiple languages like Tamil, Kannada, Odia, Bengali, Gujarati, Malayalam, Telugu and Marathi. Voot also offers a large collection of popular TV shows in Indian Cinema. Voot’s TV shows include many channels you can watch and pay nothing.
Zee5 has web series, movies, tv shows, music and videos. Tons of movies in many languages. Nice English subtitles on some material. Over 1,500 free movies. This is a high-quality platform with nice smooth streaming and great sound. It has many featured languages with original features, live TV, catch up TV, lifestyle shows, children’s programs, exclusive short series and acclaimed plays. Zee5 offers more than 90+ live TV channels and 1.25 lac+ hours (1 lac is 100,000) of viewing across the languages of English, Hindi, Bengali, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, Oriya, Bhojpuri, Gujarati & Punjabi.
YuppTV is a great site with a lot of free TV channels in dozens of languages, including Nepali, Urdu and English. You do have to create an account to be able to see most of the selections available in your Language – like these English Movies. Some of the available English TV is also mentioned on other pages of this Free Foreign Film website, including DD India and NDTV. You really have to explore this site and dig in, but there are a lot of interesting shows that are totally free.
Tubi once again shows why it is one of the best free film sites, by offering Bollywood Dreams, a category of Hindi films online. It appears to have hundreds of Hindi films from fairly recent offerings to older classical favorites. Tubi remains one of our favorite free movie streaming sites. No sign up is required for the site. Tubi has a fine selection of both American and international films – all available to stream online and all totally free. Tubi would be our choice for the best all-around website for viewing all types of movies.
Eros now has a huge collection of Indian films. Eros now is better known for their extensive group of films available only by pay sign-up, but they do have a free subscription option: Eros Now Basic – free subscription – access to limited titles and features.
PLEX has a Bollywood Gems Movie category in addition to its large collection of international films. These are generally a little older and not current Bollywood movies – but still great and still free. Of course, PLEX also has many American and international films.
It’s amazing how many great free hindi movies are available on YouTube. This is probably one of the first places you should go to watch free hindi movies online. YouTube currently has the gangster drama Gangs of Wasseypur (2012), listed by the Guardian as one of the top 100 films of the 21st century. It also has Masaan, an award-winning film at the Cannes Film Festival. There are really a lot of great films. Look closely and you might find a few starring Karenna Kapoor, one of our favorite actresses. In addition to Hindi films, YouTube has a huge collection of free American and international movies and many global news channels. And of course, it is completely free.

There are many other places to watch free Hindi movies online, but we find them of questionable legality or uncertain security. Other sites exist that just perform poorly, either streaming unsuccessfully or of low sound quality. Some great and super high-quality streaming sites claim to be free, but they require sign-up and a paid subscription. We accept and honor that these paid streaming services have put time and energy into their work, and they deserve compensation – if we use their service. We agree with their terms of service – by moving onto a different platform with a different marketing plan. The streaming sites that we share on this website are always legal, high-quality, trusted and free.
