JustWatch allows you to create an account and enter all of your subscription or free streaming sites you use. It will then compile the movies available and show you where you can legally watch great films. There are dozens and dozens of film streaming sites – including the free ones. It shows you new films on your streaming sites, popular films on the websites you use, and you can create a watchlist with these movies. Justwatch contains an outstanding set of movie utilities for you to find what to what and where to watch it. All are trusted and many are safe free movie sites.
Reelgood is a great search service for finding all types of movies. You can create an account, enter your services and Reelgood will show you the top rated films available on your streaming services for you to watch. Or just see the all the movies available on the free services. Filter by type of film, movie or TV, and the services. We use Reelgood.com’s film list on our Country page although I don’t think they publicize or promote that country information publicly. We think it is a fantastic resource. Their movie search site is among the best we have found. The results from Reelgood include safe sites to watch free movies.
IMDb is a great site with a fantastic collection of movie information and films to watch. It has film information, movie reviews, film trivia and ratings. It also has information on actors and the production team. We like to use the advanced search feature to find movie genres and where to watch. But you can also watch a great variety of movies on IMDb. Great movie resource.
A Good Movie to Watch is helpful for finding great but lesser known films. These films have high viewer ratings but a low number of total viewers. You can find movie suggestions based on your mood or feeling, the most popular movies or random films. This site would be good for helping you to broaden your film horizons and exposing you to new movies. Human curation without algorithms. It may be without algorithms, but they do use user ratings to narrow the list of film candidates. And we think that is a great way to do it. If you have to use some broad criteria, user ratings would be an excellent guide. These results include safe free movie sites.
Movie-Map allows you to find similar movies to others you may like. It’s based on a movie recommendation system. The more people that like two different movies, the closer these two movies will move on The Movie-Map. It’s interesting that films that don’t necessarily have any obvious connection (like genre, actors, directors, etc.) may be linked closely together. But I find that is uncannily accurate with my own film tastes.
ReelTub is a nice streaming search guide that shows information on movies and tv shows with the sites that are presently streaming them. You can browse movies and tv shows, filter by genre, view IMDb ratings, and year of release. I like the wide selection of information on films from India, but there are details and streaming information on many other international films as well. Good site and well worth checking out. (It appears this site is not currently working.)

HOW CAN I SEARCH MOVIES BY COUNTRY?
To search movies by country, use this page. You can see all of the free films that were associated with that particular country. (This uses information created by Reelgood, and you might have to be logged into your free Reelgood account for this page to work, and in general, Reelgood has outstanding free movie tools). A Good Movie to Watch also has a Category Search by Country.
HOW CAN I SEARCH MOVIES BY LANGUAGE?
On hoopla you can filter the movies by language. Hoopla does require a subscription from a library. A Good Movie to Watch also has a Category Search by Language. It’s possible to improve your language skills by watching foreign films. One benefit is that you can always stop, pause, and rewind to review material. I have known several immigrants to the US that have learned English from American TV. Some of the country-sponsored sites have shows on learning a language. Hoopla has a lot of language learning videos and NHK World Japan in particular has a lot of material on learning Japanese.
HOW CAN I FIND ALL THE SAFE FREE FILMS AVAILABLE TO WATCH?
Open a free account on JustWatch or Reelgood. Enter all of the free film sites for your subscription services (sites like tubi, youtube Free, VUDU free, popcorn flix, pluto TV. PLEX, etc). Then the list of movies offered will only be from free safe film streaming services. We have a special offers page on this site that has free movies that are temporarily available. These films are usually brought to our attention through promotions and may be viewed only for a day, a week or a month.
HOW CAN I FIND WHERE TO WATCH A SPECIFIC MOVIE?
Go to JustWatch or Reelgood or IMDb. Enter the name of the film in their search box. All three will show where you can watch the film in their list of streaming sites. (JustWatch seems to cover more possible sites.) They will also show you if you can stream the movie on any free streaming sites. The highlighted options are never the free options, so look closely to see if any free streaming sites are available. These sites change their selections from month to month, so check back if you cannot find the film you want to watch.
HOW CAN I FIND OTHER MOVIES I MIGHT LIKE?
Enter the name of a movie that you like into The Movie-Map. Potential films that you might like show up near your movie. Or go to JustWatch and enter a good movie name. Go to the movie page and at the bottom it has film recommendations. Or go to A Good Movie to Watch. It includes movies that are highly rated but have few views. It’s always fun to find a great new movie that you haven’t even heard about yet. This site has a page of our favorite free foreign films but most of these are pretty well-known.
ARE THERE ANY OTHER WAYS TO FIND FREE MOVIES?
There are a lot of illegal free movie sites on the internet. They are not difficult to find. However, on this site we only suggest safe, trusted, free and legal websites. There are enough legal free sites that you don’t have to use an illegal site. You could watch a movie a day for the rest of your life and never run out of outstanding free and legal films. If you have any question, you could check our list of best safe free movie sites. You might also check to see if an app of the site exists. If an app exists, then you can be fairly sure that the site is legal for streaming movies.
CAN I USE A VPN TO WATCH FREE MOVIES?
Yes, another source of free movies would be to use a VPN. Some very high quality free movies sites in the USA, Australia (SBS On Demand), or the United Kingdom (BBC iPlayer) require that you be residing in that country – for whatever reason – licensing restrictions or maybe the use of public funds? The content is geographically-blocked or geo-blocked. A VPN can make it appear that you are using a local server in that country even if you are not. Using a VPN you can log into a server in that country and then open the geo-blocked website hosting films. It is legal to use a VPN to stream movies in most countries – including the USA, however, it might violate the terms of your agreement with that streaming service provider, and it is possible they could deny you access.
WHERE CAN I WATCH FOREIGN FILMS ON NETFLIX?
